Live And Learn (M. Berueffy, M. C. Parris, P. Rogan)

Fella' of a friend said he knew a guy made a whole lotta money on a horse that flies

So I placed all my dollars on that nag to win when the race was over had no dime to spend

Ahh ahh Ahh ahh

Met a pretty girl at the bar last night said for a drink she'd treat me right

So I went to the jukebox to play her song when i got back that girl was gone

Live and learn die and forget it all

Live and learn die and forget it all

Well, I went to see a man about a dog that hunts found him a rabbit in a hollow stump

Rabbit got scared and he did run that old dog just layed in the sun

Live and learn die and forget it all

Live and learn die and forget it all

Fella' of a friend said he knew a guy made a whole lotta money on a horse that flies

So I placed all my dollars on that nag to win when the race was over had no dime to spend

Ahh ahh Ahh ahh

Live and learn die and forget it all

Live and learn die and forget it all

Live and learn die and forget it all

Live and learn die and forget it all

Hard Livin' (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan, M. Spence)

Workin' on that assembly line just trying to make a dime

Cuttin' back my hours I don't know how I'll survive

but I'll try, yes I'll try, to get by

I'm up before the sun comes up it's time to go to work

Got four tires one is flat my boss he is a jerk

but I'll try, yes I'll try, to get by

I ain't drinkin' and I ain't sinnin' this is my religion Hard Livin'

Achin' back achin' feet standing on concrete

If I weren't an honest man I'd find a way to cheat

but I'll try yes I'll try to get by

I ain't drinkin' and I ain't sinnin' takin' what I'm given Hard Livin'

Got a wife kid at home I know that they need me

Guess I'll strap on this old hard hat and start another week

cause I ain't free no I ain't free i ain't free

I ain't drinkin' and I ain't sinnin' this is my religion Hard Livin'

I ain't drinkin' and I ain't sinnin' takin' what I'm given Hard Livin'

I ain't drinkin' and I ain't sinnin' ain't no rags to riches Hard Livin'

Hard Livin' Hard Livin' Hard Livin' Hard Livin'

Damn Apple (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan, V. Smith)

Through the door it came sorrow and grief looking for peace no answers for his decision

The road he traveled was not my own the road between love and hate became his fate

That damn apple don't fall too far from the tree

That damn apple don't fall too far from the tree

I hate ya had to fall at all

Brother, I know inside you're a lot like me

Brother, can't you tell, too lost for heaven, too sweet for hell

The passing years will show, my road was high, your road was low

That damn apple don't fall too far from the tree

That damn apple don't fall too far from the tree

Why'd ya have to fall at all

Brother I know inside you're a lot like me you're a lot like me

Living on the edge, breaking the law, kids having kids, I did it all, I kept the flame alive

Without you by my side no tear left to cry

That damn apple don't fall too far from the tree

That damn apple don't fall too far from the tree

I hate you had to fall at all why'd ya have to fall at all

That damn apple don't fall to far from the tree

That damn apple don't fall to far from the tree

Can't ya see you're a lot like me

Brother can't ya see you're a lot like me

You're a lot like me you're a lot like me

You're a lot like me you're a lot like me

Wake Me Up, Mama (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan, V. Smith)

Wake me up mama won't you sing that country song

Wake me up mama won't you sing that country song

Wake me up mama I been waiting for it all week long

Saturday morning mama you know it's cleaning day

Saturday morning mama now ya know it's cleaning day

Spin that record mama I got to hear that guitar play

Dancing in the kitchen guess your night went pretty well

Dancing in the kitchen guess your night went pretty well

Make me smile mama now ya know I'll never tell

Wake me up mama won't you sing that country song

Wake me up mama won't you sing that country song

C'mon and sing it mama I been waiting for it all week long

C'mon and sing it mama I been waiting for it all week long

Make me smile mama I been waiting for ya all week long

Hold the Light (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan, V. Smith)

Points and plugs and oil change keep her running smooth he'd say

Father's truck the front jacked up beneath the wheels some boards stacked up

Hold the light little girl just hold the light little girl

Screws and nails and coffee cans, wrenches, rags, and oil pans

Baseball on the radio, hold it still c'mon let's go

Just hold the light little girl just hold the light little girl

Just Hold the light little girl just hold your light little girl

Rakes and ladders on the wall, heavy boots his overalls

Soaking rain and mason jars nightcrawlers in the yard

Just hold the light little girl just hold the light little girl

Just Hold the light little girl just hold your light little girl

Flannel shirt his overalls, summer evenings turn to fall

Daddy seemed to need son and I became the only one

Just Hold your light little girl just hold the light little girl

Just hold the light little girl just hold the light little girl

Just hold the light little girl just hold your light little girl

Another Day in Paradise (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan)

What are you looking for? What are you trying to find?

Seems to me you changed your mind about 1000 times

Happy don’t make me mad, mean don’t make me glad, I just want some peace of mind

Another day in paradise another day to do what’s right

Another day to keep on moving forward to find my own light another day in paradise

Some don’t have a dime but they feel just fine

They can turn their water into wine, others got diamond rings

They live like kings still they got no song to sing

Another day in paradise another day to do what’s right

Another day to keep on moving forward to find my own light another day in paradise

Everybody’s looking for something everybody feels this way

You got to keep on moving keep on moving keep on moving keep on moving down that line

Will it be enough who will you ever trust seems to me we all need a little love

Money can’t buy a smile that might last a while we all need some peace of mind

We all need some peace of mind

Another day in paradise another day to do what’s right

Another day to keep on moving forward to find my own light

Another day in paradise another day to do what’s right

Another day to keep on moving forward to find my own light

Another day in paradise

Ol’ Black (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan, Jesse Jones)

Shell shocked and broken from chasin' wild steer
One blind eye he just buried his fear
Thirty five dollars, I laid down my change
King Solomon he was runnin' the range

He wasn't much to look at had an undershot jaw
A bad left hip a bush horse that's all
But he was good on a rope and could shoulder a bull
As a working man horse he was dyed-in-the-wool

In the heaven for castaway horses
Ol' Black he's sure livin' there
Old mate run free like we're all 'sposed to be
Fare thee well you're the champion to me

No other hand would give him a chance
But he could walk like hell in a ballerina's dance
He could cut out cattle and was easy to shoe
A bush horse supreme my mate through and through

In the heaven for castaway horses
Ol' Black he's sure livin' there
Old mate run free like we're all sposed to be
Fare thee well you're the champion to me Fare thee well you're the champion to me

In the heaven for castaway horses
Ol' Black he's sure livin' there
Old mate run free like we're all 'sposed to be
Fare thee well you're the champion to me

In the heaven for castaway horses
Ol' Black he's sure livin' there
Old mate run free like we're all sposed to be
Fare thee well you're the champion to me run free like we're all 'sposed to be

Fare thee well you're the champion to me

16th and Haak (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan)

Platform shoes phony license couple bucks got you in

Rolling Rock bottles yeah the bar maid now she’d give you a grin

Just a dive bar with a stage but the best rock n’ roll bar I’ve been

That corner bar rocked down at 16th and Haak

Three deep at the bar with a bottle and a smoke in hand

Swear I was in heaven when the lights went up on the band

A couple beers in we’d forget about the LCB man

That corner bar rocked down at 16th and Haak

Just don’t get caught down at 16th and Haak

One night when Eddie’s sister came and brought us a round

From the front door came some screamin’ such an awful sound

Three guys against the wall and the cops were pattin’ ‘em down

That corner bar rocked down at 16th and Haak

Just don’t get caught down at 16th and Haak

Better run don’t walk down at 16th and Haak

The cops threw a lock on at 16th and Haak

Big Bear Blues (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan)

Singing with the king another Friday night guitar‘s granola bars by the campfire light

Marshmallows wine and whiskey and some of that legal weed too

Heard some snorting and some shuffling at the edge of the woods with a 37 foot shadow the bear it stood

and in his claws it had my buddies Martin Guitar well he found him a G Chord and then a C

& with a few nimble moves he had him a D & then he tapped that big bear left paw and he played this song

Highway's making noise in my part of the woods I need a little rest like every big bear should The honeybees the clean water

They ain’t around like they used to be I got to missing all my honey don’t care about man's money can’t catch me no big fish big bear big bear

Big bear blues

So I looked at The King and The King looked at me he said holy 4-letter word that there bear can sing

We oughta take him down there to Nashville and cut a record or two so I talked to the bear and the bear talked to me

He said he’d go if we'd give him our weed…we had to think about that for a second

but we did man and that bear he went down to Nashville and played this song, it went a little something like this

Highway's making noise in my part of the woods I need a little rest like every big bear should the honeybees, the clean water

They ain’t around like they used to be, I got to missing all my honey don’t care about man's money can’t catch me no big fish big bear big bear

Big bear blues

So we cut him a record 10 songs of his own but nobody cared because American Idol was still on

and Taylor Swift tickets they cost $800 apiece

and we had a bear that could smoke weed and write his own songs

and play the guitar with them big ol bear paws

and we couldn’t even get 500 streams on the Spotify

and that bear he said you know what man he said I’m gonna go back into the woods

& the bear he took my buddy’s Martin Guitar and then he took my Matthews guitar

We didn't really want to give the bear our guitars but when a bear wants your guitar

you kind of have to give to to him

The Gift (M. C. Parris, P. Rogan)

Are you looking for yourself?
Are you trying to be someone else?
Are you Livin up to who they say you oughta be?
Do you wake up everyday
just trying to find your way?
are you happy with the mirror that you see?

If we lost it all today, would it matter anyway
who we are is the choices that we make

I was walking by your side
when you left I did not cry
I see now that he came to take you home
I know it’s just a dream my eyes they now have seen
Holding hands you both walked out the door

If we lost it all today would it matter anyway
who we are is the choices that we make

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today
The gift is I can dream when I’m awake

Do you wake up everyday just trying to find your way
are you happy with the mirror that you see
If we lost it all today would it matter anyway
who we are is the choices that we make
don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today
The gift is I can dream when I’m awake

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today

Don’t let it slip away we’ve only got today

Don’t let it slip away
